I awoke the morning after, the morning after that particular night. The night was completely dark: no light, no shade, only darkness. The morning after had been cold. Technically, it was not morning; it was still twilight. As I sat on the roof outside my window, I gazed westward, watched the final traces of silver light. Blowing from the east, the wind grazed my left arm and howled in my left ear. It is an odd sensation, having half a cold body. As I sat watching the moon (what remained of it), I was tickled by strands of silk. The fragrance of the night brushed my nostrils and I dreamily thought of the coming day. As the last traces of sparkles left the black blanket, light slowly returned to the world. I felt as if a new chapter in my life was beginning. The page was turned, and the Writer himself brought the feather to the ink well, and onto the parchment he wrote my story. The light in the world slowly turned on. For a few brief moments, eight minutes if my science is still correct, I watched the sun rise above the horizon. It was as if the sun had just opened its eyes. Then, at the end of that eight, short minutes, a burst of light hit my face, instantly warming my body. I suddenly became lost with inspiration. The beautiful sight that the morning had brought. The red and orange beams of light reflected off the few morning clouds, staining them red as if the sky were the sun's canvas. I looked to my right, and saw something much more beautiful than any sunrise. Inspiration engulfed me once more. As the sun set behind us, I breathed again. * This was an assignment for English. I was to watch a sunrise and describe it on one paper. I found the assignment boring and decided to make a story about it. I started out with the "And the sun set behind us" and i thought, "wait, sun set? thats not the assignment" But then I came up with the whole "lost" idea. I turn this in later, hopefully, I won't get marked down for writing it out like I did. Enjoy ^_^. Thank You, Mai beloved, for helping edit this passage ^_^. Always and forever, The Devoted Fool .
